GREEN DAY!
Green Day is FINALLY coming out with a new album, 21st Century Breakdown! In stores May 15th! I'm excited, they haven't released an album since American Idiot in 2004! They just released the single, "Know Your Enemy" which is really catchy and I like it a lot. It's not particularly ground-breaking or anything new for them, but I like that they're sticking to their sound. Maybe the rest of the songs will be a little less "mainstream"...who knows, I can't wait to hear the rest!

Bored!
So I'm up and awake and at 1 am....I'm not very tired and I don't have school tomorrow, so I guess staying up this late is justified :D This is the last week of the ski season in Utah, so I'm planning on going to Alta tomorrow and then maybe hitting up Alta again on Thursday (no school) or going over to Park City. I'm sad the ski season is over!! All in all, I've gone about 15 times or so this season. I used to only go twice a year at the most, so this season has been a huge improvement!
So...I have recently joined the Electronic Music Enthusiasts Club at the U, and it's really cool! We were called the Electronic Dance Music Enthusiasts United Club, but for obvious reasons we decided to shorten it ;)
And since I'm awake, I thought I'd post up a few of my favorite techno/electronic/house/dance songs :)
This is "Kiss Me Again" and it's super catchy!! I just love it. It's my most played song on my iPod by far!
This next one is "Boten Anna" by BassHunter. He's amazing!! He's coming to Utah on May 29 and I'm definitely going to be there! He also has another super famous song, "DotA".
This one is called "Eurodancer" by DJ Mangoo. It's a really pretty song with a good beat. I remember Lauren's friend, Tyler Jones, put this on a CD for her a really long time ago...I still like it! :)
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter everybody!
Well, I'm horrible at updating this thing. I only have three more weeks of school left..YAY! I can't believe my freshman year of college is almost over! It's actually gone by pretty fast. My plans for this summer are to take three classes: Bio-Organic Chemistry, Biology 1210, and Indoor Rock Climbing! I'll also be living in the dorms again, which I'm actually kind of excited about....I'll have my own room! Yay!
Well, this week is our Initiation week for the new girls of Alpha Chi, so I'll be super busy in the evenings at practices and ritual stuff for it.
I thought I'd share a few of my favorite WebComics...I love going to different online comic websites and reading what they have! I used to read the Comics in the Bakersfield Californian on a daily basis, and now that I dont have the paper, it's only fitting that I'm reading the ones online! Here are my favorites:

These are just classic Lolcat comics...they're off of www.icanhascheezburger.com

This one is from xkcd.com...its pretty witty, I love it :)
Anyway, I'll try and make it a New Years Resolution to update this more. Until next time!

Hola
I'm going to start up ice skating lessons again, and complete Adult Level TWO ;) There are four levels, and I have a goal to complete all four! I've also been indoor rock climbing three times this week, and it's so much fun! It's such a great way to build strength and have fun at the same time!

Also, the other night, Kim (my roommate), Nate, Colby, Mattie and I baked a chocolate cake! It was sooo tasty. Here are some pictures of us, and I'm not sure who has or hasn't seen my roommate, but she's in there too :)

The batter is the best part!!

Check out this wall of ice!!
Life up here is really great. So far my classes are going well, and I'm having a LOT of fun hanging out with everyone up here! This is random, but for my political science class last semester, we had to write a paper about our political views and why we think that way (based off of our analysis of how we were raised, what influenced us, etc.) and my professor had this to say about mine:
"Stephanie,
This is one of the best essays in our class. Your examples are very well selected, and I can see how these examples have directly influenced your political identities and ideas. Your specific examples on abortion, foreign policies, and insurances show that you are very interested in society and politics. You examined problems the U.S. has very well and pointed very well. I really appreciated your essay."
SWEET!!!! I got an A in that class :D Anyway. Sorry about the long post! I'll make it a point to update this a lot more often!!!

Another post!
Hello everybody! I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving ( I know I did!) ! The food was EXCELLENT as always, and I especially enjoyed the turkey and stuffing. It was great to be back in Bakersfield, even though I probably spent only a total of 60 hours there ;) I didn't bring my camera, so hopefully Lauren will post all the Thanksgiving pictures up!
As far as this goes, I turned in a five page paper today detailing my political beliefs and WHY I feel the way I do, and on Friday I have a little news quiz in Political Science and a Chemistry test. Tuesday and Thursday I have my ice skating lessons, which will wrap up on the 9th of this month. They're going really well, and I'm nailing the basics :D I can't wait to move on to the higher levels and hopefully someday I'll be able to pull off a spin or some other impressive figure-skating maneuver. I originally wanted to get into speed skating, but I think I'll try figure skating first.
The two pictures I have posted here are from my Initiation Week at Alpha Chi Omega. It was a couple weeks ago, and Monday-Thursday night all 25 of us new members had a giant sleepover in the basement of the Alpha Chi house. Needless to say, we got hardly any sleep at all! One night, a few of us went out and bought red and green (our colors) plastic cups and stuck them on a fence on a bridge above a freeway in the shape of a lyre (our symbol). It was about three in the morning but it was fun! The picture of that is below. Another night, we went up to the giant U and stuck white trash bags in vertical lines so that the U looked like a lyre...hard to explain but it looked kinda cool. As far as hazing and all that goes, I will assure you all that there was none of that! I wouldn't have stood for something like that. It was just a very fun week and at the end of it we were formally initiated as active and potentially lifelong members of Alpha Chi Omega! I'm still enjoying it a lot, although we haven't done too much lately because it's close to finals. All of mine are on December 16 and 17....whew! It's coming up soon!

Well that's all I really have to say for the moment...it's a busy week so I probably won't update this for a little while, but I love you all and take care!
Love, Steph

Hello!
Well, Lauren has tried to convince me to create a blog for a year, so I finally decided to give in :)
My first post will be about the Winter Formal hosted by Alpha Chi Omega that was last night. It was a lot of fun! The theme was
Mardi Gras and we all met at the house first and then took a charter bus downtown to where the dinner and the dance was held.
I went with a RM named Josh who's in Phi Delta Theta. (He used to play football for Dixie State...cool). On Wednesday, we held our annual "Mr Alpha Chi" compet
ition to find our "dream" frat boy, which means we nominated our favorite frat boys from the different houses and then publicly humiliated them ;) We asked them a bunch of random questions and to sing parts of their favorite Britney Spear's songs, and they also had to perform something for the talent part of the competition. The deal was that we wanted all the nominees to be asked to our formal, so I asked Josh even though I didn't know him at all!
Anyway, here are some
pictures!
