Craziest Morning Ever!!

So, I had a Vocab test today in Physiology, which I've been studying for for the last week and half, and last night I got in a TON of studying and even went to bed at decent hour so I could wake up on time, study in the morning, eat breakfast, and be totally prepared for the test.

Well, I forgot to set my alarm.

Luckily, I've been so in the habit of waking up at 8:45 that I woke up at 9:25, BARELY enough time to hop in my car and drive up to my 9:40 Physiology class. Heck, I don't even think it was out of habit that I woke up, I think for those of you who know how much I love sleeping in, me waking up before noon is divine intervention! :)

I just threw on a coat, some pants, grabbed my glasses from my desk, and ran out the door with my backpack that was conveniently waiting for me by the door. I ran into my car, put my key in the ignition and....

MY CAR WOULDN'T START!

AHHH!!!!!!!

I completely freaked out, tried putting the key in again and again and trying to start the engine...I thought my car was dead. I didn't notice any of the lights on but who knows. Then I started thinking in my head, "If I try to hop on Trax up to the school, will I be even more late, or will it maybe get me there on time?" Because Trax only runs every 15 minutes, and even then it's still a 10 minute walk from my class.

Then I thought, "Maybe it will be faster if I just sprint UPHILL all the way to class!" It's a 20 minute walk uphill, I can't imagine RUNNING for that distance uphill!

But then I calmly put my key in the ignition again, turned it, and it worked. *WHEW!* I drove up to class, parked, ran-walked to class while looking at my notecards, and walked into class RIGHT at 9:40. :)

Took my Vocab quiz, and I definitely think I aced it.

Good Weekend

I had a really good and eventful weekend, thought that I would share!
Ready for Spring Recruitment!
Andy and I at a free ice skating night at the Gallivan Plaza in Salt Lake City. It's an outdoor ice rink right in the middle of downtown. It's awesome!
We walked around downtown just a little bit and I got this shot of an alley. It looks really cool.
Nate and I went biking up the trails I biked all last summer that are right behind the dorms. It was so fun! Really cold and really hard going uphill, but it was a fun challenge that required a lot of bike control and stamina! Biking in the snow is just like running on sand. It's really tough.
Wearing a helmet as always :)
I have a picture of this same view from Fall, Winter, and Spring now. I'll have to find the other two. This is always my resting point going up the hills.

Good Quote

Just replace India with Bakersfield! (Or Bahrain, for Dad & Paula!)

"In India, "cold weather" is merely a conventional phrase and has come into
use through the necessity of having some way to distinguish between weather
which will melt a brass doorknob and weather which will only make it mushy."
-- Mark Twain

And while I'm here, here's a random picture of Coco and Grayson playing basketball with me:

"You're gonna end up eating a steady diet of government cheese and...."

Hello family! Right now I'm in Phoenix, waiting for my flight to Salt Lake City! I had such a great time in Bakersfield for Christmas Break, it's sad to leave :(

I'll post up pictures from the break soon (Well...I don't have the best track record for posting on here but I'll really try!) but I just found this picture and thought I'd share :)
